REST APIs can be built quickly with Dotz Framework. Use the REST routing and create resource classes for each resource you wish to setup.
## Naming REST Controllers
The class name should always end with the suffix ‘Resource’. Therefore, a rest class intended to deal with data about people should be named:
PeopleResource
Methods should have the following naming convention:
httpMethodResource()
Therefore, a GET opertion for the people resource would have a method name:
getResource()
## Views in REST Resources
To send an output of your final result you should use the controller’s view property:
$this->view->json(
[
'msg' => 'This is a get request.'
]
);
The associative array (or PHP object) passed to $this->view->json() will be transformed into a json object and outputted with the appropriate HTTP Content-Type header.
